Development’s in the 1990s
Over the last 10 years, Sandgate has witnessed something of a resurgence. As highways north and south become increasingly crowded, the bayside has become a more popular place to live or visit. Sandgate’s close proximity to Brisbane is being rediscovered.
A number of the grand old homes have been renovated and many substantial new homes have been built along the foreshore.
New businesses, including a proposed new shopping complex, have been established to cater for local residents and also to attract residents of adjacent suburbs.
Sandgate remains for many Brisbane residents the most accessible and attractive bayside suburb.
