Sandgate History
Sandgate is fortunate to have had an active local history society for some 15 years. The Sandgate Historical Society publishes a monthly bulletin “By the Seaside” as well as a range of specialist publications on Sandgate’s history. The Historical Society meets monthly for presentations on local history.
The Sandgate Historical Museum, 150 Rainbow Street, Sandgate, is open Sunday and Wednesday 10-3. (ph.38692283) It houses a range of artefacts, a large photo collection and an extensive range of written documents relating to Sandgate’s history.
