Easter Weekend Sandgate Bluewater Festival
This fabulous annual bayside attraction is brought to you by the Sandgate & Districts Chamber of Commerce, with significant support from business sponsors and community organisations in the region.
This annual event is held each year in the lead-up to the Easter Long Weekend, and marks the start of the historic Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race on Good Friday. The Bluewater Festival celebrates its eleventh year in 2008, and will once again feature Great Music, Food, Fun and Attractions, Markets, Rides, Entertainment and more!
Key Events: For 2008:
Sunday 16th March - Full Moon Hotel – Bluewater Sunday, Bluewater Fun Run, Bluewater Bramble Amble (local church walk), Bluewater at Low Tide (marine-life discovery tour)
Monday 17th March - Fashion Parade + Cocktail or Wine & Cheese evening
Tuesday 18th March - Sizzle at the Station with Jazz + Nova FM (or other), Outdoor movie night
Wednesday 19th March - Steam Train Trip into Sandgate in conjunction with bus tour of local historic landmarks.
Thursday 20th March - Bayfire Spectacular – Lower Moora Park, Lantern event, fire twirlers, fireworks, live entertainment on the Baystage, markets, food and rides.
Good Friday 21th March - Live entertainment on the Baystage, markets, food, rides, displays and other events surrounding the start of the 60th Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.
During lead up week - Bands from local schools to perform in Sandgate, BWF signature dishes by local cafes and restaurants, Photographic competition, Schools Colouring-in Competition

Einbunpin Festival
This annual community festival is held in the Einbunpin Lagoon Parklands in the centre of Sandgate.
Bunpin, a mythical creature from the lagoon makes an appearance. Craft and food stalls also add to the atmosphere.
This is an important day for fundraising and promotion of local activities.
Daytime family activities include the famous “mullet” throwing competitions and “mullet” volleyball.
Young locals stage a battle of the bands in the late afternoon.
Yarrageh Festival
This event is usually held each year in August/September. Amateur theatre groups from throughout southeast Queensland present their best one-act plays in Brisbane’s longest running One Act Drama Festival.

Music By The Sea Festival
Sandgate Music By The Sea Festival runs early January each year. It is a three day festival which brings fine music to the Sandgate area. The festival presents professional, international, national and local artists. The program covers various genres including classical, Folk, Jazz and World music.
Festival performers have included Karin Schaupp, Joe Chindamo, Sarah Hopkins, Jane Rutter, Roger Woodward, James Morrison, Simon Tedeschi, Bob Brozman and Linsey Pollak and many more…

Music By The Sea Concert Series
Music By The Sea concerts began in 1997, with an aim to bring fine music to the northern suburbs of Brisbane. The performances are a mixture of Folk, Jazz, Classical and World music. The superb acoustics of the Sandgate Town Hall enable us to have quality concerts ranging from solo recitals, orchestras to big choirs.

Unplugged Cafe

Healthy Living Expo
The 2007 Healthy Living Expo was held in February at the Sandgate Town Hall. The event featured a variety of workshops, innovative supplier demonstrations and products to promote healthy lifestyles. Expected to be an annual event.
